The IDLA Driver Education course meets Idaho’s driver ed requirements.
The State of Idaho requires 30 hours of classroom instruction, 6 hours behind-the-wheel and 6 hours of in-car observation.
Here is how it works:
- Register on-line now for your driving instruction and observation time. You can do this on our registration page. Just choose the option for IDLA.
- You will also need to register with IDLA. This is done thru your jr/high school.
- The cost of the on-line portion of the class is $75.00. This fee must be paid to IDLA thru the site coordinator at your school.
- In-car instruction is $375.00 or $275.00 for contracted schools.
Driver Education in Idaho is now ahead of most states in offering this flexible, multimedia, interactive course that challenges students to gain the knowledge necessary to be a more skilled and safe driver on Idaho’s roadways.
During this course, students will experience a variety of instructional media–videos, lectures, texts (including the Idaho Driver’s Manual, essays and articles), interactive virtual programs, discussions with peers, and direct interactions with the on-line instructor.
